Case 01

Health insurance group, Puerto Rico

Enterprise · Healthcare & Finance

Independent consultant since 2016 to one of the island's largest health insurers. Five systems built and still in production, across claims, finance, and regulatory reporting.

Problem: Claims, commissions, Medicare Advantage enrollment, tax forms, and check runs each needed a system of record that fit the group's SAP-based finance stack and its regulators' reporting rules.
Approach: Five .NET, Angular, and SQL Server systems, delivered one at a time by the same consultant, with an SAP NCo bridge serving four corporate divisions.
Outcome: All five still in production in 2026. Ten years with one accountable engineer, so nothing has been handed to a team that has to relearn it.

Case 02

PPE Compliance Platform

Client

The system of record for gear, assets, and compliance across more than 500 fire departments, service providers, and enterprise organizations: inventory lifetimes, inspections, work orders, and alerts before gear falls out of compliance.

Problem: Departments have to prove every set of turnout gear meets NFPA 1850, and OSHA 1910.156 where it applies, from purchase to retirement. The legacy system was fragile and could not keep up.
Approach: Rebuilt as a multi-tenant suite on ASP.NET MVC, then extended with an offline progressive web app and a native mobile app so work is logged on the bay floor, not back at a desk.
Outcome: More than 500 organizations active on the platform, including county and state-level agencies. Replacement costs projected years ahead, and an audit trail with role-based access that satisfies department auditors.

Cleanings, inspections, repairs, locations, assignments, checklists, work orders… you name it, the program can do it.

Bermudez Systems LLC is the engineering practice of Gabriel Bermudez, based in Puerto Rico and working on Atlantic time with mainland teams. Clients get enterprise-grade work without agency overhead: the person accountable for the architecture is the person writing the code.

The measure we hold work to is simple. Software should be handed off with documentation, tests, and no apologies. That standard applies whether the deliverable is a compliance platform for fire departments or a free app on the App Store.

One accountable engineer. No account manager between you and the person who knows the system.
Onshore, US jurisdiction. Work stays in Puerto Rico, which matters for HIPAA and Puerto Rico regulators.
